Studygroup Welcome

Welcome to the nexus for the IJSN study groups. These study groups will bring like minded individuals together to explore concepts, histories and politics -- pushing and challenging each other to reach new insights and creative organizing strategies. This website is just the beginning. Participants will find materials, resources for communication and ways to connect to other study groups nationwide. Here are tools to start building and learning together. Welcome.
- To create a space where individuals trust the politics of people they’re learning with and thus explore Zionism in (hopefully) new, dynamic, and different ways.
- To develop confidence in and the ability to speak on Zionism. Participants will gain understandings of why we oppose Zionism as well as a sense of empowerment to enter discussions on Zionism from different angles.
- To facilitate relationship building and communication amongst anti- and non-Zionist Jews.
- To build a sense of collective identity and offer an opportunity for participants to explore what it feels like to work together as IJSN, simultaneously solidifying analysis and developing our politics clearly.
- To think and talk about Zionism in a way that is geared towards action.
- To take time to do learning that we often don’t allow ourselves while grounded in a strategic project. These study groups can evolve into groups that organize together beyond this learning – ideally, helping local outreach and other support for the IJSN conference.
- To build together. These study groups, while geared towards future organizing, are actually our counter-hegemonic practice -- developing our own education program and community-building.
